If Only I Were Rich...

Anthropologie are having a sale. And despite having no money I continue to browse its wonderful website! I have restricted myself to longing for only a couple of things...

I have to confess that I very much love shirt dresses. There is something about the silhouette that just makes me feel fabulous! And this looks like it would be one of those such dresses! I love the main pattern on the dress, particulary when combined with the contrasting tie and back panel.

I just love, love, love this skirt. The contrast between the black and bold blocks of colour is just perfect! This is the skirt that spins out so perfectly when you twist and twirl so happily! If only I were rich...

Collecting Shiny Things...

I have developed a slight magpie tendency recently; I am drawn to all manner of sparkly things, but in particular the delights of costume jewellery. I recently discovered Shourouk Rhaiem's wonderful work and had to share it!

I think the 'Funky Art Deco Necklace' has got to be my favourite. I love the asymmetric shape combined with the fabulous blend of colours! And, of course, the diamanté! Its definitely a cheerful necklace and I would have so much fun wearing it - oh to have the money...

A Roaring Revival

Apparently the 1920s are having a comeback in the fashion world - many celebrities have been recently spotted wearing vintage or vintage inspired dresses. But, for me, the fascination has been much longer. Ever since I first watched (and fell in love) with Chicago I have admired that era; and coveted a beautiful dress complete with magnificent beading!

I just love everything about these dresses! The beads, the crisscrossed straps, the uneven hems, and especially the glamour which surrounds them! An evening wearing one of these dresses would always be fabulous!!

A Little Bit of Kiely...

It's not often I would buy something just because of the fabric (well ok maybe it's happened a few times!) But this dress would be one of those if I had a spare £300 lying around and fancied a trip to Oral Kiely!

Despite not particularly like the style of it on the website, you can be sure that its probably the perfect flirty dress and fits you like a glove!! Unfortunately I shall never find out, but a girl can dream right?

But as I already said I just can't get enough of the pattern!!! I love that it looks slightly floral until you zoom in and see it's the silhouettes of women! [Sigh...]

Miss Scarlett

I know that Scarlett Johansson's curves are legendary but her most recent adverts for Dolce and Gabbana and Moet are gorgeous! Forget models, she is stunning!!

I also really love her hair, very Marilyn Monroe and so voluminous. I have no idea how the Moet shoot was photographed but if that was me I would've broken more than a few of those champagne glasses!!

Dolly Shoes

I positively love these shoes from Kurt Geiger. They're whimsical and girly and completely fabulous! The shape is slightly Edwardian (or some other distant era) and thus prevents the pink and glitter from becoming completely overpowering. The combination of the silky bow and the simple gold star on the sole are just perfect and look so very elegant. If I was getting married anytime soon (which I'm not), these would definately be my choice of shoe!!

Prada vs. Primark

Ever since I first spotted Prada's fun and fabulous garments adorned with a car print I have been coveting them. So, imagine my surprise when I open The Sunday Times Style magazine to discover that Primark have created just such a garment!

This is, of course, also a major downfall. Now they've published it to half the world everyone will want one, and not one will be found in my quiet part of the world.

Now I love Primark, but anyone would have to admit that this is a lovely skirt. I just love the pastel colours and 1950s vibe!

Both Dakota Fanning and Carey Mulligan model these Prada creations beautifully. The dress accentuates Carey's heavenly figure; nipping in just so at the waist. Both deserve to be paired with some bright paste earrings and (just because you can in your imagination) a pair of Prada's car shoes.

Love to Shop

I have just recently discovered the wonderful shop Anthropologie. All the clothes are displayed on beautiful vintage mannequins and instantly make you want to flash your credit card. Here are a few of my favourite finds:

I just love this denim shirt dress; it looks soft and worn, and is the perfect mixture of casual and smart. Paired with heels and bright paste earrings this would make a really lovely dress to have dinner in. Or alternatively, I can imagine wearing it with bare legs, loafers, with my hair tied back in a scarf as I wander along a beach or sit on a boat (not that I have one of those!) I am also really loving this uneven hem, with the front just that bit shorter than the back.

This dress is also beautiful, I love the muted reds and greens which are arranged in stripes. It has a lovely retro feel to it, and the pattern actually reminds me of a fabric I own! The style is very flattering with a nipped in waist and knee-length skirt. In the summer it would be lovely with just some simple sandals, and would even work in the winter with thick black tights and a lovely knitted cardigan.

I also really love this dress, because, well you can see for yourself! The combination of the red and blues is just divine and so very bold. It's also infinately classic and retro. I could just see myself strutting around an office, or even going out for the evening! Its the kind of dress that just makes you feel great about yourself and instills the greatest of confidence!

An Addiction

I think I have an addiction.

It started off innocently enough; just one or two, here and there. And then, before I realised it, they were running my life.

Florals.

They are my biggest downfall, well those and chocolate!
Any kind will do; a tiny paisley print, a nice faded rose, lace, anything! I'm like a magpie drawn to shiny objects; put me in a room and I'm instantly drawn to any floral print present.
Sitting here now I can spot 5,6,7,8 different prints without even turning my head.
This is getting to be a serious issue, but what can I say, I'm an addict!
